Natural & Architectural Anodising

Natural & Architectural Anodising

At SPA Aluminium we supply anodising-quality aluminium extrusions and provide in-house architectural natural anodising from 5–25 microns for aluminium extrusions/profiles and fabricated components.

With over 50 years of anodising experience and a fully in-house finishing facility, we supply consistent architectural-grade anodised aluminium suitable for both demanding commercial and construction applications.

In addition to anodising customer-supplied materials through our Free-Issue service, we also stock anodising-quality aluminium extrusions, allowing us to support customers who require reliable supply of anodised aluminium profiles for ongoing projects with guaranteed decorative quality from stock.

01

Architectural Grade Natural / Silver Anodising

Natural anodising, often referred to as silver anodising, produces a clean metallic aluminium finish while significantly improving corrosion resistance, durability and surface hardness.

Architectural anodising is widely specified for external aluminium systems due to its long-term performance and low maintenance requirements. The anodic coating forms an integral part of the aluminium surface, providing a highly durable and aesthetically consistent finish.

Our architectural anodising process is carefully controlled to ensure uniform appearance across production runs and long aluminium profiles.

02

Stocked Anodising Quality Aluminium Extrusions

A key advantage of working with us is the availability of anodising-quality aluminium extrusions from stock.

Ensuring our stock is produced and packed in suitable anodising grades, we can supply aluminium profiles that are specifically intended for decorative anodising, ensuring optimal surface appearance and consistent finishing results from our stock extrusions.

This allows customers to source aluminium extrusions and anodising services through a single supplier, simplifying project coordination and reducing lead times.

03

Architectural Anodising Thickness Options

We offer natural anodised finishes in coating thicknesses ranging from:
  • 5 micron
  • 10 micron
  • 15 micron
  • 20 micron
  • 25 micron

These coating options allow the anodised finish to be matched to the requirements of different environments and specifications, from internal architectural components through to external building systems requiring increased durability or weather resistance.

04

Long-Length Anodising Capability

Our anodising tanks are designed to accommodate long aluminium sections, up to 7.5M in length, allowing us to process extended extrusion lengths in a large extruded lengths.

This capability provides several advantages for architectural projects, including:
Improved visual consistency.

  • Reduced sectional joins
  • Better colour uniformity
  • Lower handling risk during processing
  • Long-length anodising is particularly beneficial for curtain walling systems, façade components and structural aluminium profiles/extrusions
05

Supporting Large Projects & Structured Lead Times

We regularly support large-scale architectural and manufacturing projects that require consistent anodised finishes across large volumes of aluminium.

Our production planning allows us to structure anodising schedules around project deadlines, ensuring materials are delivered when required for fabrication and installation.

This structured approach allows customers to maintain reliable project timelines while benefiting from high-quality anodised finishes.

Over 50 Years of Anodising Experience

With more than five decades of experience in aluminium anodising, our team understands the importance of preparation, process control and finishing consistency, along with our in-house quality team each job can have inspections tailored to the requirements needed on a project-by-project basis.

This long-standing expertise allows us to deliver architectural anodised finishes that meet the expectations of fabricators, contractors and end customers across a wide range of industries.

Collection and Delivery Logistics

To support efficient project coordination, we operate a fleet of vehicles capable of collecting and delivering aluminium materials, subject to location.

This service helps streamline the finishing process for customers by reducing transport requirements and simplifying logistics between manufacturing and anodising stages.

Applications for Architectural Anodised Aluminium
Natural anodised aluminium is commonly used in:
  • Architectural façade systems
  • Curtain walling
  • Window and door frames
  • Balustrades and handrails
  • Structural aluminium components
  • Commercial building features
  • POS display systems
  • Medical systems
  • Marine environment profiles & components
Its combination of durability, corrosion resistance and clean metallic appearance makes it one of the most widely specified aluminium finishes in modern construction.
